While the US continues to make foreigners’ entry, China decides to invest in a new type of visa, called “K”, aimed at young science and technology talents, one of the most advanced areas in the Asian country.
Officialized this week, the measure is valid on October 1st. The K Visa eliminates the employer’s sponsorship requirement for those who are qualified and want to work in the country, facilitating the attraction of these professionals. The government’s goal is to advance further in science, technology and innovation, considered strategic for the Chinese.
According to information from the Xinhua Agency, “the applicants of this visa must meet the qualifications and requirements established by the competent Chinese authorities and present proof documentation.”
In general, the visa flexibility strategy has already resulted in a 30% increase in foreign travel to China in the first half of 2025, according to BRICS TV.
Donald Trump’s USA, on the other hand, follow the reverse way, making it difficult to enter these professionals. The H-1B visa, focused on this audience, started to cost $ 100,000. The government’s argument is that the visa, as it was, allowed companies to replace US workers with foreigners.
