The Communist Party of Brazil (PCdoB) expresses its full solidarity to the people and the Venezuelan government in the face of recent threats starring the United States.
We condemned the announcement by Donald Trump on August 9, 2025, rewarding for the capture of President Nicolás Maduro, as well as the military presence of US destroyers in the Caribbean waters, near Venezuela-actions that constitute serious intimidation and attempted regional destabilization.
It is important, at this moment, to remember the principle of non-intervention provided for in the Brazilian Federal Constitution, and the defense of peace and Latin American integration. We also denounce the clear violation of international law – which prohibits the use or threat of the use of force and ensures the self -determination of peoples.
PCdoB exhorts Latin American and Caribbean peoples and countries to build the firmer unity in the face of the imperialist offensive against the region. In this sense, the declaration of the countries that are part of the organization of the Amazonian Cooperation Treaty (OTCA), which repels threats and maintains that the region should remain “free of threats, aggression and unilateral measures, including coercive, is relevant.
Venezuela’s integrity and sovereignty must be respected by immediately exit of US war ships and the end of external threats against their legitimate government.
South America is a peace zone and so it must continue.
