The government of President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva spoke on Saturday about the escalating of Israel’s military operations in the Gaza Strip. Itamaraty says the action, including a new foray into the city of Gaza, should aggravate the catastrophic humanitarian situation of the Palestinian civilian population.
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said on Sunday (10) in Jerusalem that he will “very soon” the total occupation plan of the Gaza Strip, starting with the city of Gaza.

The Brazilian government considers that this advance in occupation will further impact the problems experienced by the civilian population, “plagued by death scenario, forced displacement, destruction and hunger.”
“Remembering that the Gaza Strip – like the West Bank, including East Jerusalem – is an inseparable part of the state of Palestine, Brazil renews the appeal to the complete and immediate removal of Israeli troops from the territory,” says the Itamaraty note.
The government also reiterates the urgency of the implementation of permanent ceasefire, the liberation of all hostages and the unimpeded entry of humanitarian aid.
