Bullet grazed former US president’s right ear; attack took place during rally in Pennsylvania
Former US President Donald Trump, 78, was rushed from a rally he was holding in Butler, Pennsylvania, after the event was interrupted by gunfire, according to a news agency “AP”, the shooter was killed. A person in the audience also died.
The Republican Party candidate for the White House was giving a speech when he reached for his right ear, which had been grazed by a bullet. He was then removed from the scene by Secret Service agents. It is possible to see that there was blood on his ear.
As he is escorted away, he asks the agents to wait and raises his right fist, likely in a show of strength. The crowd at the rally reacts and shouts in support of the former president.
One of Trump’s sons, Donald Trump Jr., posted on his social media profile an image of the moment his father raised his clenched right fist as agents escorted him. See below:
Shortly after Trump was removed from the rally, the former president’s spokesman Steven Cheung said the Republican was “good” and had been treated at a local hospital.

The shooter was identified as Thomas Matthew Crooks, 20. Images posted on social media show the body of a man on a rooftop near Trump’s rally – who is believed to be the man responsible for the shooting. He was reportedly killed by snipers, who responded almost immediately – watch here.
