According to BBC Brazil, the measure occurs after a wave of concern between US technology companies, which feared that the price of the devices could shoot, as many of them are manufactured in China.

Research company Counterpoint Research revealed that 80% of Apple iPhones intended for sale in the US are manufactured in China, with the remaining 20% manufactured in India.

Data from the US Census Bureau, released by Reuters, points out that by 2024 smartphones were the main Chinese import for the country, totaling $ 41.7 billion, and laptops are second with $ 33.1 billion.
