Ingredients

  • 1 cup mayonnaise

  • 2 tablespoons pickled cucumber (finely chopped)

  • 2 tablespoons red onion (finely chopped)

  • 1 tablespoon capers (chopped)

  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice

  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley (chopped)

  • 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard

  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder

  • Salt and pepper to taste

Directions

  • In a medium bowl, whisk together the mayonnaise, pickled cucumber, red onion, capers, lemon juice, parsley, mustard, and garlic powder. 
    Stir well to combine all ingredients.
  • Taste the sauce and season with salt and pepper to taste. 
    If you prefer a spicier sauce, add a pinch of cayenne pepper or chili sauce.
  • Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes before serving, so the flavors blend and the sauce is well chilled.
  • Serve tartar sauce with fish, seafood, French fries or any other food you prefer. 
    Tartar sauce is especially delicious with breaded fish or fried shrimp.
