Mexico President Claudia Sheinbaum is the Latin American leader with the highest popular approval rate, according to the new survey round Pulsedisclosed by the atlasintel. President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva appears shortly thereafter, occupying second place among heads of state evaluated in the six surveyed countries.
The data refer to the period from June 27 to 30 and show Sheinbaum with 61% approval. Lula, in turn, brings together the support of 47% of Brazilians – This reinforces its prominent position in the region, even in the midst of a political scenario still marked by internal disputes.
The survey measured the popularity of the presidents of Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Mexico and Peru, revealing a wide variation in support levels.
Approval Indexes:
- Claudia Sheinbaum (Mexico): 61%
- Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (Brazil): 47%
- Javier Milei (Argentina): 44%
- Gabriel Boric (Chile): 38%
- Gustavo Petro (Colombia): 32%
- In Biguarte (Peru): 13%
Disapproval rates:
- On Biguarte (Peru): 84%
- Gustavo Petro (Colombia): 63%
- Gabriel Boric (Chile): 58%
- Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (Brazil): 52%
- Javier Milei (Argentina): 44%
- Claudia Sheinbaum (Mexico): 34%
With a consolidated approval, Lula stands out as the South American President with the best performance among countries living greater institutional instability and political polarization. His index puts him ahead of leaders such as Gustavo Petro, Gabriel Boric and Javier Milei – the first two facing higher levels of rejection and oscillation in popular support.
Dina Boluarte, in Peru, records the worst result: 13% approval against 84% disapproval. The Peruvian president is still highly unpopular in the midst of the prolonged political and social crisis that shakes the country.
The research Latam Pulse is part of a monthly monitoring produced by Atlasintel in partnership with Bloomberg. The study accompanies perceptions about governments and the political environment in the main countries of Latin America.
