Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup pop corn

  • 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil

  • Salt to taste

  • Optional seasonings (such as grated Parmesan cheese, paprika, herbs, etc.)

Directions

  • In a large pot with a lid, heat the oil over medium-high heat.
  • Add 3 popcorn kernels to the pan and cover it. 
    Wait until these grains pop, as this will indicate that the pan is hot enough.
  • Once the 3 kernels have popped, add the remaining popcorn and cover the pan again.
  • Shake the pan constantly, moving it back and forth over the heat. 
    This will help prevent the popcorn from burning.
  • As the popcorn begins to pop, reduce the heat to medium and continue to shake the pan.
  • When the popping slows down, turn off the heat and keep the pan covered for about a minute to allow the last popcorn to finish popping.
  • Transfer the popcorn to a large bowl and season with salt to taste. 
    You can also add extra seasonings, such as grated Parmesan cheese, paprika, dried herbs, or other seasonings of your choice.
  • Mix well to distribute spices evenly.
  • Your gourmet popcorn is ready!
