Ingredients
4 medium potatoes
1 egg
1/2 cup wheat flour
1/2 cup grated cheese (optional)
1 tablespoon melted butter
Salt and pepper to taste
Frying oil
Directions
- Peel and cook the potatoes until they are very soft. Then, mash them until you get a puree.
- In a large bowl, mix the mashed potatoes, egg, flour, grated cheese, melted butter, salt and pepper. Stir well until a homogeneous dough forms.
- With lightly floured hands, take small portions of the dough and form into balls of the desired shape.
- Heat the oil in a frying pan over medium heat.
- Fry the dumplings until they are golden on all sides. Make sure to turn them so they cook evenly.
- Remove the dumplings with a slotted spoon and place them on paper towels to absorb excess oil.
