Ingredients

  • 4 medium potatoes

  • 1 egg

  • 1/2 cup wheat flour

  • 1/2 cup grated cheese (optional)

  • 1 tablespoon melted butter

  • Salt and pepper to taste

  • Frying oil

Directions

  • Peel and cook the potatoes until they are very soft. Then, mash them until you get a puree.
  • In a large bowl, mix the mashed potatoes, egg, flour, grated cheese, melted butter, salt and pepper. Stir well until a homogeneous dough forms.
  • With lightly floured hands, take small portions of the dough and form into balls of the desired shape.
  • Heat the oil in a frying pan over medium heat.
  • Fry the dumplings until they are golden on all sides. Make sure to turn them so they cook evenly.
  • Remove the dumplings with a slotted spoon and place them on paper towels to absorb excess oil.
  • Serve hot, and enjoy your delicious potato dumplings!
