People saw shooter 2 minutes before shooting at Trump

A video posted by an internet user on X (formerly Twitter) shows that participants at Donald Trump’s (Republican Party) rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, on Saturday (13.Jul.2024) saw the shooter about 2 minutes before he shot the former president.

The conclusion was reached from the superimposition of images of supporters alerting police to the presence of the man on a rooftop, armed, close to the event stage, before the speech by the candidate for president of the United States.

Trump was grazed by a bullet to the right ear. The shooter, identified as Thomas Matthew Crooks, was killed. A person in the audience was also killed.

According to the FBI (Federal Bureau of Investigationin English), the 20-year-old man acted alone.

The case has raised questions about the preparedness of the US Secret Service, which is responsible for the event’s security. The agency’s director, Kimberly Cheatle, who took office in 2022, is under investigation.

Cheatle claimed the Secret Service acted “quickly during the incident, with the sniper team neutralizing the shooter” and what agents are “implementing protective measures to ensure safety” the Trump.

Still, the organization is “working with all federal, state and local agencies involved to understand what happened, how it happened and how we can prevent an incident like this from happening again”.

The Secret Service also said Sunday (July 14) that it is confident about the security plan developed for the Republican National Convention.

The event begins this Monday (15th July) and should confirm the official nomination of Donald Trump as the party’s candidate for the elections on 5th November.
