Oven-baked Salty Pamonha with Cheese (Special for June Festival)

Enjoy a traditional June festival treat with this oven-baked pamonha with cheese!

Ingredients

  • 1 kg of green corn dough

  • 100ml hot lard

  • 250 grams of fresh Minas cheese

  • 1 ear of shelled corn (optional)

  • Salt to taste

Directions

  • In a container, place the green corn dough, hot lard and salt to taste.
  • Mix the ingredients well until you have a smooth, homogeneous and consistent dough.
  • Pour all the dough into a baking dish greased with lard.
  • Add the fresh Minas cheese cut into cubes and the shelled corn on top.
  • Bake the pamonha in a preheated oven at 180°₢ for about 40 to 45 minutes.
  • Unmold if you prefer, cut into pieces and serve the pamonha hot or cold.
