President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva met this Tuesday (24) with the president of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed, in Abu Dhabi.
According to Planalto, the two leaders reiterated their interest in quickly concluding negotiations on the Mercosur-UAE Agreement to establish a comprehensive economic partnership.
The conversations took place as part of President Lula’s working visit to the United Arab Emirates. The representatives examined the deepening of the strategic partnership between the two countries.

In addition to the agreement, Lula thanked the Sheikh for the UAE’s participation in the Tropical Forests Forever Fund, launched during COP-30, in Belém (PA). The Brazilian also invited Mohammed to visit the country this year.
The president of the United Arab Emirates, in turn, highlighted that the strategic relations between the United Arab Emirates and Brazil, which span more than 50 years, continue to strengthen.
“He highlighted the broad scope of cooperation that both countries seek to advance, in line with shared priorities and long-term objectives,” says Planalto, further reporting that the two leaders exchanged views on “regional and international developments of mutual interest, as well as on their joint efforts to support peace and stability in the Middle East and globally.”
