The extremist group Hamas estimates 38 victims; Israel says it sought to target military infrastructure

Dozens of Palestinians were killed this Saturday (June 22, 2024) during Israeli air strikes against 2 densely populated districts in Gaza. According to the extremist group Hamas, there are at least 38 victims.

Israeli forces informed the British newspaper Guardian that aimed to kill Hamas commanders. According to them, military infrastructure was hit, but Hamas did not confirm it.

The attacks hit the al-Shati neighborhood and the al-Tuffah district. Videos released by Reuters show dozens of Palestinians searching for victims in destroyed homes. Many of the injured were taken to Al-Ahli hospital.

On Friday (June 21), another attack hit a Palestinian camp in Rafah. In total, 25 were killed and 50 injured, according to the Associated Press.
