To make your Integral Banana Cake, use the ingredients below, following the recipe’s preparation method.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups whole wheat flour

  • 1 teaspoon powdered yeast

  • 1 teaspoon of bicarbonate of soda

  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon powder

  • 1/4 teaspoon of salt

  • 3 mashed ripe bananas

  • 1/2 cup brown sugar

  • 1/4 cup vegetable oil

  • 1/4 cup milk (you can substitute plant-based milk if you prefer)

  • 2 eggs

  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Directions

  • Preheat the oven to 180°C. 
    Unite a cake form with oil or butter and sprinkle with whole wheat flour.
  • In a medium bowl, combine whole wheat flour, baking powder, baking soda, ground cinnamon and salt. 
    Reserve.
  • In another bowl, mix mashed bananas, brown sugar, vegetable oil, milk, eggs and vanilla. 
    Mix well until you get a homogeneous mass.
  • Add the dry ingredient mixture to the bowl with the banana paste and mix gently until all ingredients are incorporated.
  • Avoid stirring too much so as not to make the cake heavy.
  • Pour the batter into the prepared pan and spread evenly.
  • Place in the preheated oven and bake for about 40 to 45 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center of the cake comes out clean.
  • Remove the cake from the oven and let it cool in the pan for a few minutes. 
    Then transfer it to a wire rack to cool completely.
  • When the cake is completely cool, you can sprinkle it with powdered sugar or decorate it to taste.
