From so many Bolsonarists saying “Go to Cuba” people really went! But not only Brazilians, people from all over the world, as the TripAdvisor website placed the island as the main tourist destination for 2023. At the top of the “Trending Destinations — World” list, Cuba is followed, you see, by another socialist country: the Vietnam.
Incidentally, Vietnam appears twice in the list with 25 nominations: in second place with Hoi An Ancient City and in eleventh place with Ho Chi Minh City (formerly Saigon) – which bears the name of the historical leader of the Vietnamese people.
About Cuba, the site says that the country is a great opportunity for cultural exchange and that the capital Havana concentrates a mix of old world architecture with current culture. In addition, it highlights the city of Trinidad, considered a World Heritage Site by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (Unesco), and recommends a visit to the Sugar Mills Valley.

Cuba’s tourism is one of the main sources of income for the country. With the Covid-19 pandemic, this market was strongly shaken, which affected the Cuban economy. However, with the resumption of activities after the peak of the pandemic, Cuba, which controlled the spread of the virus very well with extensive vaccinations and few deaths, is now emerging as the world’s main tourist destination on the travel and information website.
With regard to the Ancient City of Hoi An, in Vietnam, it is stated that the place is a preserved example of an important commercial center from the 15th to the 19th centuries, being a destination already known by backpackers and that has gained the taste of more tourists. It is also said that on the 14th day of each lunar month, the city replaces electric lights with traditional colored lanterns and recommends visits to the Japanese Covered Bridge and Quan Cong Temple.

As for Ho Chi Minh, the description argues that the largest Vietnamese city sets the cultural and economic pace of the country. There is the highlight of the French colonial architecture, the War Vestiges Museum, the Jade Emperor Pagoda temple, as well as a visit to the Bến Thành market and the Mekong river delta, passing by rice paddies and floating houses.
