The Brazilian Workers ‘Center (CTB) expressed, on Thursday (10), support for the general strike called by the three main union centrals of Argentina-CGT, CTA-Autonoma and workers’ CTA-against Javier Milei government policies. The national stoppage has as its agenda the defense of jobs, labor and social security rights, and the rejection of privatization and the new agreement with the IMF.

“CTB is sympathetic to the movement and is expected that this great journey of struggle will be able to stop the Milei government’s destructive policy,” says Adilson Araújo, president of Central, and Nivaldo Santana, secretary of international relations, in an official note.

The document points out that Argentine unions mobilize to ensure policies to combat hunger, valorization of wages and retirement, union freedom and sovereign development anchored in national industrialization. CTB reiterates its commitment to the integration of Latin American unionism and the valorization of work throughout the continent.

“All support for the Argentine General Strike!” Concludes the letter signed by the national direction of the entity.

Companions and companions,

The Brazilian Workers’ Center (CTB) expresses its most unrestricted solidarity to the general strike called by the Argentine union centrals on April 10, 2025.

This great journey of struggle, which mobilizes broad sectors of the working class and Argentine social movements, represents a firm response to the Milei government’s ultraliberal policies, which have promoted a brutal fiscal adjustment, cuts of rights, wage tightening, increased poverty and growing repression of popular manifestations.

The CTB is sympathetic to the movement and is expected that this great journey of struggle will be able to stop Milei’s destroying policy, restore suppressed rights, and make way for a democratic, sovereign and popular alternative to the Argentine people.

Argentina’s working class gives an example of resistance and combativity for all of Latin America, reinforcing the struggle for social justice, appreciation of work, regional integration and national sovereignty.

All support for the Argentine general strike!

Adilson Araújo
CTB President

Nivaldo Santana
Secretary of International Relations of CTB
