The railway port of Manzhouli, China’s largest land port, operated 1,724 freight train trips between the Asian country and Europe in 2024, until last Wednesday (May 15, 2024), according to the China Railway Harbin. It represents an increase of 1.2% compared to the same period last year.
In addition, the port in the autonomous region of Inner Mongolia, in the north of the country, has handled 184 thousand TEUs (twenty-foot equivalent units) of goods since January 1, an increase of 0.8% compared to the same period last year .
China-Europe freight trains passing through Manzhouli port connect 60 Chinese cities with 13 foreign countries, including Russia, Poland and Germany. The route is used to transport mainly electrical products, supplies and vehicles.
