Brazil will assume the presidency of the BRICS in 2025 and the visual identity for the forum that will take place in the country was launched last Friday (20). The visual communication project is based on the Amazonian Samaúma tree (Ceiba pentandra).
According to the government’s Social Communication Secretariat, the choice “seeks to translate the diplomatic, socioeconomic and political grandeur of the BRICS.”

Therefore, the tree, which can reach 60 meters in height and two meters in diameter, carries the central values of the group: “While the tree canopy, open and horizontal, which protects other species of flora, symbolizes protection and inclusion, the sapopemas, Vigorous and visible roots that support the tree symbolize the strength of the union between the parts.”
Furthermore, the text highlights, Samaúma “has the ability to extract water from the depths of the soil, even in times of drought, and share it with other plants, symbolizing cooperation and shared development”.
The logo still carries the colors related to the flags of the member countries.

For Brazilian foreign policy, the scenario is auspicious. After the presidency of the G20 this year, the next one in store, in addition to the Brics forum, is the organization of the 30th edition of the United Nations Climate Conference (COP 30), in Belém, Pará.
