In the early hours of Friday and Saturday, Israel launched intense attacks against military targets in Iran, including areas close to Tehran and other strategic regions. According to the Israeli government, led by Benjamin Netanyahu, the offensive was a response to the Iranian attacks that took place at the beginning of the month. Israeli strikes targeted air defense batteries and missile production facilities, resulting in the deaths of two Iranian soldiers.

Despite the retaliation, Israel has avoided hitting sensitive oil and nuclear facilities following urgent calls from allies and neighboring nations for restraint.

In a statement, Israel declared that it is prepared for new actions if the conflict intensifies, warning that any threat to the Israeli state will be responded to. Iran, in turn, minimized the material damage, stating that its air defense prevented further destruction, while both Iran and Iraq decided to close their airspaces after the incident.
