The Municipal Popular Government of Zhuhai, China, and the Brazil-China Parliamentary Group of the Chamber of Deputies promote, on Monday (14), in Brasilia, the inauguration ceremony of the new direct sea route between the two countries.
According to the China Embassy, the Porto Gaolan International Maritime Route (Zhuhai) -Brasil enters operation by reducing transport time within 30 days and logistics costs by over 30%.
Starting from Porto Gaolan in Zhuhai, southern China, the route will connect directly to the port of Santana (AP) and the Port of Salvador (BA).

Xinhua, the state agency of Chinese news, says the line will cover the main zones of Brazilian mineral and agricultural production, as well as its northeastern industrial belt.
“It will also expand access to emerging markets in South America, providing economic and efficient logistics solutions for interior companies, narrowing China-Brazil economic and commercial cooperation,” says Xinhua.
The ships will depart from southern China, and will directly cross the narrow of Malaca and Cabo da Boa Esperança to the port of Santana (first stop) and to the port of Salvador (final destination), reaching the economic zone of Brazil directly.
The Brazil-China parliamentary group points out that, just as the oceans connect distant lands, this new route strengthens the bonds between Zhuhai and Brazil, opening ways for mutual prosperity.
“Inspired by the vision of a shared future, we take this historic step to expand trade exchange and promote new opportunities among our nations,” says the parliamentary group.
