The US president says he supports Hunter Biden, but again declared that he will not grant a government pardon
The President of the United States, Joe Biden, said this Tuesday (June 11, 2024) that he accepts the conviction of his son Hunter Biden for illegally purchasing and carrying a firearm. Hunter was found guilty of lying when he said he did not use drugs to acquire a handgun in 2018.
The Democrat once again declared that he will not grant his son an official pardon. Biden also revealed that Hunter is considering an appeal. The lawyer’s sentence has not yet been released. It must be released within 120 days.
Biden also spoke about his son’s struggle with addiction to illicit drugs. “So many families who have had loved ones struggle with addiction understand the feeling of pride in seeing someone you love come out the other side and be so strong and resilient in recovery.”he stated.
After the statements about Hunter, Joe Biden spoke about the importance of gun control during the Everytown Gun Sense University event in Washington DC. He expressed solidarity with the parents of victims of gun attacks in American schools and defended the implementation of checks antecedent universals.
